No 1 screwdriver set by Elementary Design

No 1 Screwdriver Set by Elementary Design. NHS, Coronavirus, Lock-down

The No.1, screwdriver set is a handmade reproduction of two originals designed by Justin Holmes for himself when, as a cabinet maker, he was unable to find a set of screwdrivers which met his requirements for comfort, quality and simplicity.

The beech handles are fitted with solid brass ferrules and are finished by dipping in linseed oil. The initial matt appearance will darken with age and become polished with use.

Justin has a fascination with beautiful materials that age elegantly, such as wood, which he uses in his own designs to make his luxury products of the highest quality. What is unique about Elementary Design’s screwdrivers is that they are all drilled by hand and sawn by Justin with the help of Mystique in their railway arch workshop in the UK.

Wildscape Pouch by Rubykite

Wildscape Pouch by Rubykite. NHS, Lock-down, Coronavirus

The image of the Wildscape Pouch is taken from Rubykite’s “Wildscape” series, inspired by long walks along the fields and beaches of Norfolk. Their Wildscape paintings started as a series of colour sketches, before being painted on plaster. The plaster transforms the bright colours into a chalky palette of coastal tones. This pouch is perfect as a make up bag or small clutch. It is made from a lovely cotton sateen, with a plain cotton lining, and printed on both sides, with a contrast zip and silky tassel.

Founded by designers Tamara Williams and Joy Leese, RubyKite create original art works that are used in making silk scarves and accessories. Ideas always start with drawings, from a love of composition and visual space through to the energy and freedom of abstract line work. Unique textures are explored through different printmaking techniques which translate beautifully onto each scarf. Each colour story is printed in small batches and packaged by hand.

The Tide will Turn Print by Baldy and the Fidget

The Tide Will Turn Print by Baldy and the Fidget

A beautiful oceanic blue, typographic print with the empowering quote the "Tide will turn". Perfect for the nursery or even for a friend. Printed in a lovely slate blue.

Baldy and The Fidget, are husband and wife team Angus & Heidi Griffin. They both come from a creative, ‘arty’ background. Imagination and creativity have always been important in their lives. After the birth of their son in 2015, they realised they had neglected their Post-its of ideas of ‘could do’, ‘cool to do’ and ‘funny to do’ sketches and scribbles. They also wanted to leave their little boy a legacy of who they really are as artists and parents. Angus creates ideas and images via his much-loved and worshipped computer. Heidi is ‘old school’ and hand draws everything in her trusty sketchbook. This combination of modern & traditional techniques, mixed with two quirky minds, makes for an exciting range of prints to suit most, if not all tastes.
