Julie Hutton Ceramics
I am a conceptual ceramic artist, living and working in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. I graduated from the Carmarthen School of Art in 2017, with a first class honours degree in Ceramics and Jewellery. Following my degree show, I was selected for several UK Graduate exhibitions. I recently launched my new collection ‘Flow’ at One Year In, New Designers. In my artistic flow I create abstract painting, inhabiting a space where mind, body and soul connect in the making process. I then recreate parts of these painting on to the surfaces of my hand built ceramic forms. Experimentation with glaze, colour, firing techniques, patterns and shapes inform my work. Each form is individual and organic with a contemporary feel.
I was previously a social worker and therapist and am keenly aware of our need to feel connected to ourselves, others and our environment.
