The components of the trugs are inspired by the reeds that line the river banks. These sculptural pieces are natural, soothing and rock. Jane says: “They echo evolutionary crafts and where our food comes from. They are like a bit of refreshment from nature, for our interiors, to connect us with nature and bring a little of that lovely feeling you get when you go for a walk. .. The other day I discovered fractals in art and nature and I realized they related closely to my work, in particular, my trug trios. My obsession with line, space and form and the repetition of that in different scales. “
Jane makes objects for life that say something and amplify traditional techniques in a contemporary way. They are made to use and love but have strong sculptural qualities that create movement within a ridged structure.

The "Brass Sun Necklace" is a collaboration with the Mexican designer Mariana Mazon Salas "Gulushu" . Michelle’s mother is one of the many Canadian "Snow Birds" who spend the winter in beautiful San Miguel , to escape the cold and ice. Several years ago Michelle went to visit during an Easter break and was stunned by the colours, crafts and amazing culture. She met Mariana in a market where she was selling her gorgeous jewellery and they decided to do a small collaborative collection. Mexico has a long tradition of working in metals - primarily silver - but Mariana was working in brass and copper and textile fringe. And so the "Sun" necklaces were born - all hand cut and crafted straight from the warmth and beauty of the exotic mountain town of San Miguel and hand finished in grey rainy East London.

The Planet Necklace is shaped and hammered by hand to give it an organic and tactile finish. Natalie says: “ I like the idea of combining curves with straight lines, and representing something three-dimensional in flat plains: I named this Planet necklace as it reminds me of the rings of Saturn. It also contrasts brass with silver. I love the two metals together, and brass has such a low-key gold tone: quite the opposite of brassy gold! “
